Homeowner's Frequently Asked Questions

Two professionals shaking hands across a desk.

What does a public adjuster do, and who do they represent?

A public adjuster works on behalf of the Homeowner —not the insurance company! We assess the damage, review the scope of repairs, and communicate with the insurance company while advocating for your best interests and helping pursue a fair and complete settlement.

How is Central Coast Public Adjusters different from other Public Adjusters?

With 10+ years of roofing experience, we understand how roofing systems are actually built—not just estimated. This allows us to identify overlooked damage, incomplete scopes, and items often missed in insurance estimates, helping present a stronger claim.

How are fees structured?

Our fee is a percentage of the additional funds we recover for you. There are no upfront costs, and if we do not recover additional money, there is no fee.

What if no additional funds are recovered?

If we are unable to recover more money on your claim, you owe us nothing. There is no risk to you.

Can you help if my claim was underpaid, partially approved, or denied?

Yes. Many homeowners come to us after receiving partial approvals, minimal repairs, or denials. We review your claim, identify what may have been missed, and work to pursue a more complete settlement.

Can you help if my claim is already in progress?

Yes. Many of our clients come to us after the claim has already started. Whether you’ve received a partial approval, underpayment, or have concerns about your claim, we can step in and review your situation.

Can you help if my insurance is requiring roof repairs or threatening cancellation?

Yes. We help homeowners facing repair requirements, non-renewals, or policy cancellations due to roof condition. We evaluate your situation and determine whether insurance coverage may apply.

What types of claims do you handle?

We handle a wide range of property claims, including roof damage, water damage, fire losses, and interior damage. Whether your claim is new or already in progress, we can step in and assist.

Will I still have to deal with the insurance company?

We handle most of the communication with your insurance company on your behalf. You will still be kept informed, but we take over the back-and-forth so you don’t have to manage the process alone.

How long does the process take?

Every claim is different, but most claims take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on the complexity and responsiveness of the insurance company. We keep you updated throughout the process.
